Teeaira Bessix, 23, and Roderick Galloway, 47, both of New Castle, Delaware, were arrested after allegedly robbing Royal Farms on East Pulaski Highway in Elkton over the weekend.

The Elkton Police Department received an alert at approximately 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 11 of an armed robbery in progress at the store, according to a police spokesperson.

Bessix and Galloway allegedly entered Royal Farms armed with a box cutter and pepper spray before jumping over the counter and filling two large bags with cigarettes and fleeing in a vehicle westbound on Pulaski Highway, they said.

The vehicle was quickly located, the spokesperson said, as it was speeding on the highway with its headlights off.

During the subsequent traffic stop, both Bessix and Galloway were taken into custody without incident, police said. The box cutter and pepper spray were seized and all of the stolen merchandise was returned to Royal Farms.

Both were charged for their roles in the armed robbery. No return court date has been announced by police in Elkton.
